Sauvie Island - Walton Beach Cleanup for June

Join us for the The Sauvie Island Walton Beach Cleanup! This is a self directed cleanup of a stretch of beach along the beautiful Columbia River on Sauvie Island. Sauvie Island is a federal wildlife preserve and currently supports a biologically diverse association of wildlife which includes at least 275 species of birds, 37 species of mammals, 12 species of reptiles and amphibians. It is also home to many farms that bring us delicious vegetables, fruits and preserves. Sauvie is also home to the Pumpkin Patch! This is the first of a projected series of cleanups. Bags, gloves and site safety information will be available on the day of the event. All ages are welcome but youth under 18 will need parental permission to attend alone. Parking passes will be provided. Dress appropriately for the weather and for beach walking. Bring a water bottle! Help us keep this beautiful island clean for everyone to enjoy! Sporthaven Marina Bar & Grill Beach Cleanup

In partnership with Barefoot Wine/ Western Beverage, this beach cleanup will be at Sporthaven Beach on Saturday, June 4th from 9 am to noon. Sporthaven Beach is the beach located in front of the Best Western and the Ports RV Park, and is known by locals as: Surfers Paradise. All volunteers are encouraged to register prior to this event on the SOLVE website. So everyone Lets all go Barefoot enjoy the sun, surf and hopefully see a whale or two while cleaning up the beach. All participants over 21 are invited to a thank-you reception at the Sporthaven Marina Bar and Grill at 16374 lower harbor Rd, Brookings, Oregon. Hosted by Barefoot Wine and Western Beverage from noon to 2 pm.

Woodstock Community Annual Clean-Up

Every Spring we gather at the Community Center in the morning to sign-up for clean-up duties. Coffee, Water and Pastries are provided. Then organized teams of volunteers pick up litter, sweep sidewalks and spruce up landscaping. Lunch is provided for all the volunteers at noon. This is a fun day for all. We recommend that you bring your own work gloves and reusable water bottle. Children must be supervised by an adult. Activities include: Litter Cleanup.

National Trails Day at Mount St. Helens

Volunteer for Trails on National Trails Day! Washington Trails Association (WTA) and the Mount St. Helens Institute joined forces to construct this newest trail on the Monument. Now its time to do some maintenance and restoration work.

The Volcano View Trail begins at the popular Ape Cave and in a mile pops out at the upper trailhead parking area next to a great view of the south side of the Volcano.

Come lend a hand restoring native vegetation around the viewing platform and doing annual trail maintenance. No experience necessary!

Meet at the SW Corner of Blandford Dr and MacArthur BLVD. There is plenty of parking in the lots across the street or on Blandford Dr.

Volunteers will help get rid of English ivy, holly, Himalayan blackberries and other invasive species that are choking out native plants and trees.

We ask all volunteers to wear long pants, closed-toe shoes and work gloves. No tools required but if you have a shovel, pruners, Pulaski/grubhoe, loppers and/or pruning saw, by all means bring them along with a water bottle.
