Girl Scouts Day at Cooper Mountain Nature Park

Explore our newest nature park with activities geared toward Girl Scouts of all ages.  Visit with a female park ranger and naturalists to learn about how these women help take care of these natural habitats.  Hike through the park while stopping for hands-on activities and learn about the flora and fauna that make this park their home, including wildflowers, Western Bluebirds, bobcats and more! Leave having completed steps towards Bugs, Flowers, Hiker and Animal Habitats Badges.

Come prepared for the weather and expect to spend up to two hours at the event. Preregistration required.

Please arrive by 8:45am to enjoy some hot coffee and breakfast treats and get assigned a crew. The planting starts promptly at 9:00am. We provide gloves and tools, so all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes or boots.

We are proud to continue our partnership with the City of Tigard and Clean Water Services! This is part of the Tree for All Campaign, CWS' ambitious plan to plant 2 million trees in the Tualatin River Basin! This is Friends of Trees second year at this site, which is a tributary to Fanno Creek.

Come plant native trees and shrubs to help restore the riparian vegetation around Mt. Scott Creek. Mt. Scott is a tributary to Kellog Creek, an important tributary to the Willamette River and home to Coho salmon, Steelhead, Pacific lamprey and many more wildlife species.

Tranquil Park is a 4.5 acre green space in Wilsonville. The City of Wilsonville and Friends of Trees are working to restore a healthy, native understory and plant later-succession conifers like Hemlock and Cedar. We will be planting native trees and shrubs as well as removing ivy and other invasive plants from the area.

Join us to plant trees and remove invasive weeds in our watershed! Volunteering is a great way to get to know our area, meet new people, and get some exercise while helping out our streams. You'll be provided with tools, gloves, and water. Please bring a water bottle, dress for the weather, and wear closed-toed shoes or boots. All events start at 9:00 a.m. and end at noon, unless otherwise noted.
