Conservation Education

For decades, conservation educators have played a pivotal role in effecting community change within The Intertwine. Ultimately, our Conservation Education Initiative aims to spur a cultural shift toward an ethic of stewardship; more time spent outdoors by all residents, enjoying the manifold psychological, physical and spiritual benefits of nature; and behaviors that exhibit a strong commitment to sustainable and nature-supporting practices. September 2014 -- The Intertwine Alliance Nature Play Working Group’s symposium and related activities all went well in early September. One event was a “swarm," a brainstorming session to see how we can best move a larger collaborative effort forward, with about 20 people in attendance. The Alliance offered to play a lead role in facilitating and promoting this effort.


March 17, 2014 | Portland, OR --  The Oregon Conservation Education Coalition's organizing committee will meet on April 16th at the downtown Portland office of the Oregon Community Foundation.


March 14, 2014 | Portland, OR -- Friends of Tryon Creek's 34th Annual Trillium Festival, held as always at Tryon Creek State Natural Area, will take place this year from April 5th to 6th.
