"The Columbia Slough Watershed Council works to connect the community with the watershed through restoration, recreation and restoration in North and Northeast Portland. Join us for Stewardship Saturdays, our monthly restoration work parties at locations all around the watershed!"

Join Columbia Slough, Friends of Trees and Portland Parks and Recreation for a day of restoration at the Columbia Children's Arboretum! Invasive Himalayan Blackberry is a common watershed foe, outcompeting the native plant species that Slough fauna depend on. There have been several native plantings in the last couple years at this site, so managing blackberry ensure their survival. RSVP to help us out today!

This event runs rain or shine! Be sure to dress for the weather and bring water, rain gear and sturdy shoes. Snacks, tools, training and gloves will be provided. Parents should note that there is a water body on this site. This opportunity is open to volunteers 16 years and older, unless accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under 18 should contact the Council for a special youth waiver.
