Angie Moore, wildflower enthusiast and Hoyt Arboretum volunteer, will give a presentation on native plants in the Hoyt Arboretum. Have you ever wondered about the blanket of understory plants beneath our conifers? This is a chance to start learning about the native plants that make up that understory.  She will have photos, key characteristics for identifying these plants, their Latin and common names and what plant family they belong to. When appropriate she will include ethnobotany - how those plants were and are used by humans. If you have been meaning to learn more about our native plants, this is a very basic and friendly lecture to jumpstart your learning.
