Every 1st and 3rd Saturday through October the Washington Trails Association (WTA) hosts a morning work party at a nearby park from 9am to 12pm.

WTA provides all tools and instruction at these events that are geared towards youth, families and the young at heart (all ages welcome!)

This Saturday we're at Whipple Creek Regional Park in Clark County near Ridgefield, WA. The park features an extensive trail network that offers multiple loop options through lush Douglas-fir forest--an shaded oasis reminiscent of Old-Growth groves in the western Cascades.

Venue:
Whipple Creek Regional Park
Venue Details:
This 300-acre regional park is located off Northwest 179th Avenue west of the Clark County Fairgrounds. The main feature of this park is 4.3 miles of trails that cater to hikers and horseback riders alike. The Whipple Creek Park Restoration Committee and volunteers marshaled by Clark County Parks are working to improve trails to make using the parking during winter months less of a muddy experience for equestrians, joggers, hikers and mountain bikers. This park is also an exceptionally pristine and tranquil forest environment and is home to many types of wildlife, including woodpeckers, hawks, deer, flying squirrels, herons, and beavers. Opportunities abound for wildlife viewing.
