Westmoreland Park, SE Bybee and 22nd, will celebrate the long-awaited restoration and "re-meandering" of Crystal Springs Creek through the Park with a Grand Reopening and Salmon Celebration, Saturday October 25th, 11am to 4pm.

Hosted by the Crystal Springs Partnership, the event will feature many activities, including games, crafts, hikes, a salmon bake and opportunities to experience the new nature-based play area.

Moving Active Transportation Forward

September 2014 -- Intertwine Alliance Program Manager David Cohen is meeting with Lake McTighe of Metro and Kari Schlosshauer of the Safe Routes to Schools program to work on a plan to support the recently approved Regional Active Transportation Plan and to develop ongoing platforms for discussion of regional Active Transportation issues.

OceanBlueProject, presents Sequoia Creek Restoration!! This event is part of a continuous effort to restore habitat along the banks of Sequoia Creek with mycofiltration. We will set the stage by clearing the area of noxious invasive weeds like blackberry and english ivy. Burlap sacks of mushroom mycelia will be placed over the cleared banks. We will plant native wetland vegetation to enhance habitat and erosion control we plant will along the site. Our main goal and focus of the event will be environmental education. Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal, Litter Cleanup, Native Planting, Maintenance & Monitoring, Erosion control. Dog Star Adventure Tours with the East Multnomah County Bicycle Tourism Initiative invites you on a fun day in the saddle.  The ride will depart from and return to Edgefield in Troutdale with a turnaround at the top of Larch Mountain.

Self guided mountain bike ride on a mountain bike trail system build by NWTA volunteers specifically for beginners and families.  Trail routes are 1 mile, 2 miles and 3 miles.  Food, prizes, music and fun will be provided.  NWTA will also have the trail building machine available for kids to explore and learn how the trail was built. Parent/guardian must be with their kids.
