Join us at the beloved Mary S. Young Park to remove ivy at these second Saturday work days. Volunteers have worked continuously for more than 8 years to remove ivy and other non-native vegetation, plant native plants and trees, build trails, etc. You will get a good workout and feel good about contributing to the health of this beautiful forest. Tools are provided. Work gloves and sturdy footwear recommended. Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal.

Women in Science Day provides a great opportunity for young women in grades 6-12 in our community to learn about careers and opportunities from successful women in the field of science. We will begin the day at the Portland Community College - Rock Creek campus Event Center in Portland with breakfast and a presentation on science careers as well as a chance for the girls to discuss careers and opportunities with the mentors. Following the breakfast session, we will walk out to the Rock Creek SOLVE-adopted restoration site to plant trees and shrubs as a part of our stream restoration project. What better way to learn about the opportunities in the field of science that await young women in our community than hearing about them from women in those fields?

The City of Seaside, Seaside Downtown Development Association, and Beach Drive Buccaneers invite you to join with us in cleaning up marine debris on our favorite Oregon Beach. Organized cleanups will take place, rain or shine, the first Saturday of every month. Sign in at The Seashore Inn on the Beach, 60 N. Prom, Seaside, get your bag, and, when done, drop it in a trash receptacle along the Prom. Stay the day and enjoy our shops and restaurants.

Polish The Jade 2016: It is that time of year again! Get involved by volunteering your time and help beautify the Jade District community. Polish the Jade is a community clean-up event that brings volunteers together to clean, repair and improve public spaces that have been neglected or misused. Get ready to pick up trash, take down graffiti and plant some vegetables. Bring your friends and family or meet new people who enjoy making the community a better place! Sign up with us today! Help us maintain our recreational and educational facilities while having fun! This welcoming and relaxed volunteer experience features projects of every kind. We end the day with an activity; previous activities have included planting flower seeds to take home, weaving baskets from English ivy, building bird feeders, and guided hatchery tours. Kids must be age 7 or older to participate. Kids under age 16 must have a parent/guardian with them to volunteer.
