Join Friends of Trees and other awesome volunteers like you as we build communities and plant trees in West Vancouver on Saturday, February 20th!

We are planting in all West Vancouver Neighborhoods, including: Arnada, Carter Park, Edgewood Park, Fourth Plain Village, Fruit Valley, Hough, Lincoln, Northwest, Rose Village, Shumway.

Please arrive to the staging site by 8:45am to enjoy some FREE hot coffee, hot cocoa, tea, and breakfast treats. The planting starts promptly at 9:00am. We provide gloves and tools, so all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes. Our neighborhood volunteers will also provide a potluck lunch for all volunteers after the planting is complete!

Expand your knowledge of native conifers with Instructor Ken Denniston (author of nwconifers.com). Ken will help you identify the local conifers of northwest Oregon. The workshop will include classroom instruction and, weather permitting, a tour of native conifers in Hoyt Arboretum. Learn easy ways to distinguish each conifer species using both photos and specimens. Class attendees will receive a handy cheat sheet to identify native conifers with 99% accuracy.

Join us on the south side of Powell Butte Natural Area along the Johnson Creek floodplain to mulch native trees and shrubs and remove invasive species in partnership with the Johnson Creek Watershed Council and Portland Parks & Recreation with support from East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District and Metro.

Come plant native trees and shrubs to help restore the Johnson Creek Watershed's native habitats, improve water quality and reduce the amount of stormwater entering the creek. Lunch will be provided at an afternoon celebration event. This project is in partnership with the Johnson Creek Watershed Council and the City of Gresham and is supported by the East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District and Metro.

As part of the Rock Creek Partnership with SOLVE and the Clackamas River Basin Council, Friends of Trees is leading volunteer restoration events along the banks of Rock Creek and its tributaries. Rock Creek is a tributary to the Clackamas River and supports numerous species of wildlife, including salmonids. This project is supported with funding from Clackamas County Water Environment Services, on behalf of Clackamas Service District No. 1.
