Mosses, lichens and liverworts are vitally ecologically important in sustaining the web of life. This is an opportunity to satisfy your curiosity about mosses, lichens and liverworts.

Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the biology, evolution, ecology, ethnobotanical uses and cultural anthropology of mosses, lichens and liverworts, as well as their role in fighting global climate change, improving urban air quality and as an integral member of the temperate rainforest ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn some of the primary species found in and around Portland and an opportunity to identify and experience many of these species in the field.
