The Friends of the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge will hold their annual native plant sale on Friday, April 22, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 23, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Refuge, 19255 SW Pacific Hwy, Sherwood. Friday night is a pre-sale for members only. If you're not a member you can join at the sale.
This is your opportunity to buy the plants that will bring the butterflies, bees and birds to your garden. Native plants supply four times the nutrition for these creatures as exotic plants do. You will find camas, trillium, wild ginger, columbine, red currant, penstemon, ferns and many more from which to choose. Plants will be supplied by Bosky Dell Nursery which specializes in Oregon natives only. Volunteers will be be available to answer questions about choosing and growing native plants. Checks, cards and cash accepted in the Visitor Center. Boxes and bags will be available, and volunteers will help load your purchases.
