Join The Nature Conservancy, the Friends of Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for this planting event. Volunteers will help restore the South Riverboat unit of Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, utilizing thirty species of native trees and shrubs. The work party is open to all ages and skill levels, and children must be accompanied by adults. Located on the outskirts of Portland, Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge is one of only a handful of urban national wildlife refuges in the country. This Refuge is now home to nearly 200 species of birds, over 50 species of mammals, 25 species of reptiles and amphibians, and a wide variety of insects, fish and plants. The Refuge has also become a place where people can experience and learn about wildlife and the places they call home.
