Join Friends of Overlook Bluff to help restore oak habitat along the Willamette Bluff in North Portland.  We are adding two more hand-managed 20'-diameter plots to the field that is home to a 200-year-old Heritage Oregon white oak tree.  This project includes mulching new areas with cardboard and burlap, spreading compost, seeding native bunch grasses, planting native bare root stock, and weeding established plots.  Food and drinks provided.  Dress for weather and outdoor work.  We have some tools and gloves, but bringing yours will be helpful too.  Our ongoing efforts are part of a larger vision to conserve a corridor of natural area in North Portland that has ecological importance for the wildlife, watershed, and community.  There are also opportunities for you or your group to adopt a plot!  For more information contact friendsofoverlookbluff@gmail.com or go to www.overlookbluff.org
