Winter Pruning

In this hands-on workshop you will learn the basics of winter pruning in order to increase the health and abundance of local fruit trees! This fun workshop will be an opportunity to gain a basic understanding of the different types of pruning cuts and when these cuts should be used. You'll also be able to gain some practice pruning under skilled supervision.
About the instructor:
Jeff Moore grew up in the tree industry, learning the trade from his father in Colorado. He started his first tree service in 1998 in Colorado and then relocated to Portland in 2000 to start Urban Forest Pro. As the Head of Sales & Career Development, Jeff is in charge of modeling and training new arborists. Urban Forest Pro is run with a focus on education for both its arborists and its customers. Jeff is an ISA-certified arborist and has over 24 years of experience in the arboriculture industry. He is happy for this opportunity to share his tree knowledge!
This workshop has a standard workshop fee of $25. Sliding scale options are provided for those who feel unable to contribute at that level. In addition, a limited amount of full scholarships and work-trade scholarships are available.
