Celebrate Arbor Month in the beautiful Overlook neighborhood on April 6 (9 am -1 pm) by helping restore natural oak habitat. Friends of Overlook Bluff's spring planting event, which follows up on last fall's invasive species removal event, is sponsored by SOLVE and will be supervised by Portland Bureau of Environmental Services Revegetation Specialist. Participants will plant native species, including red flowering currant, mock orange, tall Oregon grape, madrone, and oak along the Overlook Bluff in the 3900 block of N. Overlook Terrace, a location that offers panoramic views of the train yards, the Willamette River, and several brudges, Site is readily accessible by Yellow Line Max: get off at Overlook Park, follow N Overlook Blvd, to N Overlook Terrace, and end up at the meadow that is home to a heritage Oregon White Oak. Bring gloves and trowels if you have them. Picnic to follow the event.
