Join Columbia Springs and the Woods family for a rare treat: viewing the spawning of chum salmon at their last remaining spawning site on the Lower Columbia River. The event includes interpretation provided by Columbia Springs' staff at the viewing overlook and a buffet lunch at the home of Erskine and Sandy Wood. RSVP to Sandy and Erskine Wood at 360-892-1143 or columbiagrove.msn.com is recommended but not required. The event is free and open to the public.

Join volunteers for this monthly Third Saturday Cleanup in Northwest Portland. Pick up litter and remove graffiti in the area. Join us for some coffee and conversation afterward. Volunteers should come prepared with completed waiver forms (if possible) and work gloves on cold days. Activities include: Litter Cleanup.

Team up with Resources for Health to build trails, remove invasive blackberry, and plant native trees in the woods of Evergreen Park! This project is part of an ongoing effort since our group adopted the park in 2010 to replace destructive monoculture with native plants and make trails more inviting for the community to enjoy. Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal, Litter Cleanup, Trail Maintenance.

Rock Creek is an important tributary of the Clackamas River. Rock Creek is home to salmon, beaver, and Osprey. Volunteers will be planting native trees like western red cedar, and native shrubs like thimbleberry. Volunteers will also be installing coffee bags as a weed barrier and mulching.Planting native trees and shrubs will help shade the stream, prevent erosion and improve fish and wildlife habitat.
