Learn to build your own rain garden! A rain garden is a sunken garden bed that captures stormwater and allows it to soak back into the ground naturally. Part of a larger effort to reduce stormwater runoff and pollution from entering local waterways, this workshop provides step-by-step details on how to decide the best size & placement, which plants to choose, and how to build and maintain your new rain garden. Take Hwy 84 towards Troutdale. Just over the Sandy River bridge take the Lewis & Clark State Park exit on your right. At the stop sign go left up the river to the stop sign and go right back over the river to Glenn Otto Park. Just past the park is Jackson Park Rd. Follow Jackson Park Rd across the private bridge and then go right into 1003 Jackson Park Rd. Park on the grass on the right. There will be SOLVE signs along Jackson Park Rd.
