We would like to invite you to this month's Rewilding Skill Series. The Rewilding Free Skills Series is a class & networking event that happens monthly, that usually occurs (but not always) on the last Saturday of the month. It is a place for social networking where people make new friends and hang out with old friends learning skills to connect us with humanity's ancestral past and more local and sustainable future. We ask for a $5 - $10 suggested donation with no one turned away.

This month's theme is Basic Wood Carving. Want to improve your knife and carving skills? Do you have some sweet knife and carving skills? Come on down! Learn more, share more. Let's level up! Bring a knife and some wood to carve. Safety first!

This month's theme is Dandelions for Food and Medicine. Come learn and share what you know. We'll be drinking dandelion coffee, frying up some dandelion fritters, and snacking on dandelion greens.

Do you love being outdoors? Want to make a difference in a few short hours while learning to plant trees and meet great people? If so, join us at Sandy River Delta Park this Saturday, February 6th!

When: Saturday, Feb 6th, 9am-1pm (breakfast provided)

Where: Sandy River Delta Park (20 min drive from downtown Portland, just off Exit 18 on I-84) (map)

What: Join this work party where Friends of Trees, in partnership with the Sandy River Basin Watershed Council and Friends of the Sandy River Delta, plant native seedlings and trees at the Sandy River Delta!

Please arrive around 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew and enjoy some free breakfast snacks and hot chocolate/coffee. The event will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide gloves, tools, and guidance. Please come dressed for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and get ready to have fun!

Looking to volunteer as a group? RSVPs are kindly requested for groups of more than 5 people - go HERE to do so. RSVPs are not required for individuals or groups of 4 or fewer -- you can simply show up!

Looking for a way to get outside and make a difference in your community? Join Friends of Nadaka for our Community Planting Event to restore a healthy habitat at Nadaka Nature Park. Volunteers will be planting native shrubs like Oregon Grape, Thimbleberry, and Snowberry. Native plantings help filter pollutants, provide shade, and improve fish and wildlife habitat. Tools, plants, gloves, and light refreshments will be provided. Dress to work in natural areas: long pants, warm cloths, and closed-toe sturdy shoes. Please bring a water bottle and a friend! Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal, Native Planting.

Attention Oregon! Skip across the border for some SW Washington style restoration work! We will be focusing on the removal of invasive plant, shining geranium in a deforested area in the center of the woods at LeRoy Haagen Park. We hope to completely remove this invasive species before April so chemical treatments will not be necessary. People enjoy hanging out in this area and too frequently leave their litter behind. The hope is to return the area to its intended purpose of habitat and a nature trail for walkers and joggers. This is a great activity for young children and the young at heart. Please contact if you feel you have special needs but would still like to volunteer. Please contact as well if you are interested in coordinating these monthly efforts at the park. There is something for nearly everyone. Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal, Native Planting, Probably some light litter removal.
