Join Friends of Clark County for our annual fundraiser. Locally harvest foods will be served with wine. Friends of Clark County works with community partners and policy makers to keep Clark County a beautiful and healthy place to live, work and play. The Friends advocate for and promote: Local, sustainable agriculture Preservation of rural lands against urban development Preservation and growth of forested and open green spaces and wetlands Restoration and monitoring of fish and wildlife habitat The acquisition and maintenance of public parks, especially in urban areas The strict regulation of storm water runoff, following state law A diverse transportation system, focused on affordable public transportation The venue for the fundraiser is the Jane Weber Evergreen Arboretum is the site of the historic Stanger House - the oldest privately-built structure (remaining in its original location) in Clark County. Once restored, the arboretum and the historic home will become a tourist attraction on the 12-mile Waterfront Renaissance Trail along the banks of the Columbia River - connecting the trail from Vancouver to Camas.
