This free and practical workshop teaches you how to design and maintain an urban yard that saves you time, money, and energy while also conserving water, building soil, and creating habitat for birds and pollinators. The workshop is taught by a landscape professional who will teach you the basics of:
- site planning and designing more natural spaces
- attracting beneficial pollinators and decreasing pest problems
- reducing or eliminating pollution to soil and water and harmful exposure to humans from synthetic chemical use
Whether you DIY or work with a landscaper, this workshop gives you the framework to make decisions in your yard that benefit both your health and the health of your watershed. The class will visit a nearby naturescaped project to see design principles in action. You'll receive a comprehensive workbook and a free native plant to get you started.
