Put your pedals to the pavement with the Clackamas River Basin Council! On July 7th at 9 a.m., the CRBC will be hosting the first annual Tour de Clack bicycle ride. Riders will convene at Clackamette Park in Oregon City prior to departing for a 32.7 -mile loop through the watershed.

The route will feature numerous stops and opportunities for riders to learn more about the work of the CRBC and partners, and how everyone can contribute to a healthier watershed. Projects featured along the tour include streamside planting, fish passage barrier removal, habitat improvements such as large woody debris, and current efforts to keep the Clackamas clean. The route also features beautiful rural scenery and several views of the Clackamas and its tributaries.

The event is free for all participants!

Tour de Clack attendees should wear a helmet and bring a snack or lunch to enjoy at a "rest stop" mid-way through the route. Riders will follow the Leave No Trace ethic, and remove any items they may bring with them. Riders without helmets will not be permitted, nor will riders under the age of 16.

Errol Heights Natural Area volunteer restoration event. Third Saturday of each month, 10:00 AM-1:00 PM (OCT-MAY). Note the time change to 9:00 AM-noon in the summertime (JUNE-SEP). Join Portland Parks & Recreation, the Friends of Errol Heights and other community members for our Friends of Errol Heights regular third-Saturday-of-the-month restoration event! Please wear long pants and sturdy walking shoes and bring warm clothes, rain gear, a hat and a water bottle. Tools, gloves, water and treats will be provided. Meet at: SE 45th & SE Tenino Drive. Summer Eco-Team for Teens! Monday, August 13 - Friday, August 17; 9:00 am - 3:00 pm daily. Spend a week (or more!) volunteering, learning about nature and building job skills. Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) City Nature is sponsoring a Summer Eco-Team for youth aged 14-18. These unpaid volunteer teams work in natural areas around the city, keeping our urban green spaces beautiful, healthy, and safe for people and wildlife. Each week, Eco-Team teens work on a variety of activities ranging from caring for native plants and removing invasive weeds to building fences and monitoring wildlife. Teams will begin and end the day at the Portland Boathouse (1515 SE Water, Portland OR 97214; accessible through multiple tri-met options: www.tri-met.org). Transportation will be provided to and from all work sites from here. Snacks and water will be provided, but participants are expected to bring a packed lunch. Join us for ivy removal and trail maintenance in Forest Park. Drop-in work parties are hosted the first and third Wednesdays and Saturdays of each month (except major holiday weekends). Wear weather-appropriate, grubby clothing. We'll provide gloves and tools.
