Considered one of the nation's premiere environmental and adventure film festivals, the Wild & Scenic Film Fest is a call to action. Enjoy award-winning films that illustrate the Earth's beauty, the challenges we face, and the work communities are doing to protect the environment.

Featuring 11 invigorating films including the exclusive premier of Wild & Scenic's People's Choice Award Winner: "Rock the Boat" a story about Los Angeles and the little river that could, with cops in helicopters, civilians in kayaks, and fish stranded on concrete.

Help plant and protect native trees on the Refuge's Carty Unit!

All work days are from 9 am to 12:30 pm rain or shine. Wear waterproof footwear, bring gloves, and dress for the weather. Light refreshments and hot drinks will be provided. All volunteers must sign a volunteer service agreement (if under 18 must be signed by parent or guardian) which can be found at: http://www.fws.gov/ridgefieldrefuges/ridgefield/getinvolved.html.

Dust off those boots and get your hands dirty planting native trees, removing invasive species, cleaning up litter, and helping restore critical habitat for native plants and wildlife.

• Dig in with SOLVE this December at restoration and cleanup sites across the Portland-metro area. Over time, this work will improve water quality, create wildlife habitat, and store carbon to slow climate change.

This site represents more than four acres of ongoing habitat restoration efforts. Restoration began in 2010 with a small section of stream-side property; turf and weeds were removed and replaced with several hundred native plants, forming a thin but beautiful riparian buffer along the Conifer Park Home Owners Association walking path. On November 17th, we will be planting the treated areas - live stakes of cottonwood, willows, and red osier dogwood. This will be one our biggest plantings to date where we hope to plant several thousand plants over the next few months. Come on out and help protect and revitalize our watershed!

Join us for a midweek volunteer workday at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge!

Geese and swans are migrating through, and restoration season has begun. Help plant and protect native trees in the beautiful Refuge setting. Registration is encouraged, but not required. All work days are from 9AM to 12:30 PM. Please wear waterproof shoes and dress for weather. Light refreshments will be provided.
