Journey into the forest to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature at night.  There are creatures that only come out at night so it is a perfect opportunity to see and hear them. Spend the first part of the program indoors learning about our nocturnal residents then head out into the park for a guided night hike. Journey into the forest at night to look and listen for courting owls, watch a slideshow, listen to recordings of owl calls and see preserved specimens up close. Mini Nature Camps are half-day camps for young elementary-age children filled with fun and adventure. Create crafts, play games, make new friends and explore the trails and habitats of the park. Campers need to bring a snack, bottle of water, and small backpack each day. Suitable for ages 6 -9 years. Advanced registration required; call 503/629-6350.  $86 for one week of half-day camp.

Whether looking through microscopes, hand lenses, binoculars or a spotting scope, seek out the various animals that make this park home. We will spend time searching the park for creatures great and small to see how many we can add to our week's wildlife list, while learning about the adaptations that they have to help them survive this hilltop habitat.

This series of classes is geared toward preschoolers and kindergartners. They will learn about an exciting new topic each week.
