Celebrate migratory songbirds, wildlife and wild places at this free day long event filled with family-friendly activities. Start early with guided bird walks beginning at 5:30 a.m. This year includes a photography walk at 6:30 a.m. led by members of the Tualatin River Photo Society. Bring your camera and learn tips on how to take pictures of flowers, birds and butterflies. Family activities begin at 10 a.m. and will include building a bat, bird, or butterfly house or bee board to take home for your backyard, an archery clinic, a fish casting clinic, decoy painting, and Gyotako (Japanese fish painting). The Conestoga wagon rides around the Refuge will be back this year, and Portland Audubon will present its always popular live bird show at noon. New this year will be Native American storytelling in an inflatable salmon tent and Native American crafts. In addition, there will be conservation exhibits, hands-on environmental activities for children, music and food.

Festival parking will be available at the office building at 12205 S.W. Tualatin Rd., corner of SW 124th and Pacific Highway. Free ADA compatible shuttle buses will provide continuous transportation to the Refuge starting at 5:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be no onsite parking at the Refuge.
