September 2014 -- The Intertwine Alliance Nature Play Working Group’s symposium and related activities all went well in early September. One event was a “swarm," a brainstorming session to see how we can best move a larger collaborative effort forward, with about 20 people in attendance. The Alliance offered to play a lead role in facilitating and promoting this effort. The full-day symposium consisted of a morning workshop about designing nature play areas, led by Metro staff, followed by a symposium with a range of presenters mostly offering the latest research on the context, scope and scale of the issues. About 100 people attended the full-day event.
