Help us maintain our recreational and educational facilities while having fun! This welcoming and relaxed volunteer experience features projects of every kind. We end the day with an activity; previous activities have included planting flower seeds to take home, weaving baskets from English ivy, building bird feeders, and guided hatchery tours. Kids must be age 7 or older to participate. Kids under age 16 must have a parent/guardian with them to volunteer. Do you love being outdoors? Want to make a difference in a few short hours while learning to plant trees and meet great people? If so, join us at Sandy River Delta Park this Saturday, February 6th!

When: Saturday, Feb 6th, 9am-1pm (breakfast provided)

Where: Sandy River Delta Park (20 min drive from downtown Portland, just off Exit 18 on I-84) (map)

What: Join this work party where Friends of Trees, in partnership with the Sandy River Basin Watershed Council and Friends of the Sandy River Delta, plant native seedlings and trees at the Sandy River Delta!

Please arrive around 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew and enjoy some free breakfast snacks and hot chocolate/coffee. The event will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide gloves, tools, and guidance. Please come dressed for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and get ready to have fun!

Looking to volunteer as a group? RSVPs are kindly requested for groups of more than 5 people - go HERE to do so. RSVPs are not required for individuals or groups of 4 or fewer -- you can simply show up!

Have fun and explore while planting trees at Meldrum Bar Park. Join others in your community to restore native habitat to benefit wildlife at the park.

We provide:Tools, gloves, hot cocoa, coffee and snacks.

What to bring: Water bottle, snack, extra clothing, shoes for the ride home, and camera or binoculars if desired.

What to wear: Dress for the weather; clothes may get wet and muddy. Long sleeves, pants, rain gear and sturdy shoes or boots are recommended.

What to expect: Estuary Partnership staff will distribute tools and gloves and demonstrate planting techniques. Volunteers will be planting for approximately 2 1/2 hours. The planting site is in close proximity to bathrooms and parking.

Be a scientist for a day at our annual Invasive Species Survey! Groups of volunteers will go throughout our 100-acre natural area looking for three different invasive plant species and collecting data. No experience necessary! Training begins promptly at 9 a.m. Go to columbiasprings.org/events for more information. 

Join Friends of Trees and other awesome volunteers like you as we build communities and plant trees in West Vancouver on Saturday, February 20th!

We are planting in all West Vancouver Neighborhoods, including: Arnada, Carter Park, Edgewood Park, Fourth Plain Village, Fruit Valley, Hough, Lincoln, Northwest, Rose Village, Shumway.

Please arrive to the staging site by 8:45am to enjoy some FREE hot coffee, hot cocoa, tea, and breakfast treats. The planting starts promptly at 9:00am. We provide gloves and tools, so all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes. Our neighborhood volunteers will also provide a potluck lunch for all volunteers after the planting is complete!
