Learn to make a green holiday gift

December 6th, 6:30 p.m.

Make unique and low-cost gifts this holiday while being friendlier to the environment. Make green cleaning gifts for friends and family at a workshop co-sponsored by the Washington State University Clark County Extension Watershed Stewards and Clark County Environmental Services.

Watershed Stewards will provide practical tips on "green" cleaning using inexpensive household products such as baking soda and vinegar. Learn how you can replace expensive and potentially toxic cleaners with earth-friendly products for a healthier environment for your family and pets.  Make a green gift this holiday season!

The FREE workshop will be held on Thursday, December 6th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at WSU Clark County Extension Offices, 1919 NE 78th Street Vancouver, WA.  Pre-registration is required: Register online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/265531

Have you ever tried to identify a plant without its leaves in the dead of winter? With a few simple tips, you can identify native trees and shrubs on your next walk through the woods this season. Sage Jensen, a native plant expert, will teach you to use different features like color, texture, and leaf scars to identify plants without their leaves. This training will start out in the classroom followed by an outdoor walk so you can practice identifying winter twigs. Space is limited so please register today!
