Earth Day is a global celebration, and here in Oregon we take extra pride in caring for our environment and communities. Be part of our tradition of care by volunteering at SOLVE IT, presented by Portland General Electric on Saturday April 18th!

Litter and invasive plants have settled into the areas where we live, work and play. Now's your chance to join thousands of Oregon volunteers as we take back our city streets, local parks and natural spaces. Projects include litter cleanup, invasive plant removal, planting native trees and shrubs, and more. Projects involving youth are also part of Global Youth Service Day and several projects are set to happen the week before and after the main SOLVE date of 4/18. Sign up to volunteer by going to www.solveoregon.org, clicking "Get Involved" and selecting your favorite project from over 100 family friendly events.

Calling all volunteers to the fourth annual Rock Creek Partnership Watershed Wide Event!  Join local efforts to plant and care for native trees and shrubs at three different sites along Rock Creek in Happy Valley, OR.

**Space is limited; pre-register HERE (http://bit.ly/RCPWWE2015) to save your place!**

WHERE: The event is held at Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley.  More specific information to be sent upon registration.  We will shuttle all volunteers by bus to a nearby restoration site (and of course back for lunch!).

WHEN:  Saturday, March 14th -- please meet by 8:45am.  The event will be done about 1:00pm

WHAT:  Dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots

WHO: You, your friends, family, and anyone else you think might enjoy this fun planting event!  All are welcome, although pre-registration is required.

WHAT ELSE:  The Rock Creek Partnership will provide gloves, tools, and guidance, as well as light breakfast refreshments and coffee.  The Wild Rose Trail Band will be providing live music for us to enjoy as you're arriving before we leave for our planting sites!  A lunch is also provided to all volunteers when our restoration efforts are completed, about 12:30pm.
