Fire is one of the ultimate technologies that separates humans from other animals. Over hundreds of thousands of years humans have learned to master the arts of fire. In our class we will make a bow-drill set, one of the most classic methods for making a fire by "rubbing two sticks together".

Sunday Afternoon, September 22 - Weed Walk led by herbalist Randi Embree. Meet at Pleasant Valley Elementary (17625 SE Foster Road) from 1pm-3pm. Many weeds are used for agricultural and medicinal purposes. Learn more at this free educational event.

Saturday Afternoon, September 21 - @ Lents Park near the playground at SE 92nd & SE Steele from 1pm-4pm. Music, hands-on nature crafts, displays and games for children 12 and under.
Saturday Morning, September 21 - meet at Pace Setter Athletic (4203 SE Woodstock) @ 9:00am. 3.5 mile loop - all abilities welcome. Discover new running paths and learn about Johnson Creek and its improvement projects.
