Join us for the The Sauvie Island Walton Beach Cleanup! This is a self directed cleanup of a stretch of beach along the beautiful Columbia River on Sauvie Island. Sauvie Island is a federal wildlife preserve and currently supports a biologically diverse association of wildlife which includes at least 275 species of birds, 37 species of mammals, 12 species of reptiles and amphibians. It is also home to many farms that bring us delicious vegetables, fruits and preserves. Sauvie is also home to the Pumpkin Patch! This is the first of a projected series of cleanups. Bags, gloves and site safety information will be available on the day of the event. All ages are welcome but youth under 18 will need parental permission to attend alone. Parking passes will be provided. Dress appropriately for the weather and for beach walking. Bring a water bottle! Help us keep this beautiful island clean for everyone to enjoy! Remove invasives to improve habitat and water quality. Tools and gloves will be provided on site. Drinking water will also be provided but feel free to bring your own water bottles. This can be messy work, so please wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes.

In partnership with Barefoot Wine/ Western Beverage, this beach cleanup will be at Sporthaven Beach on Saturday, June 4th from 9 am to noon. Sporthaven Beach is the beach located in front of the Best Western and the Ports RV Park, and is known by locals as: Surfers Paradise. All volunteers are encouraged to register prior to this event on the SOLVE website. So everyone Lets all go Barefoot enjoy the sun, surf and hopefully see a whale or two while cleaning up the beach. All participants over 21 are invited to a thank-you reception at the Sporthaven Marina Bar and Grill at 16374 lower harbor Rd, Brookings, Oregon. Hosted by Barefoot Wine and Western Beverage from noon to 2 pm.

Drop in for our regular Saturday 'freelance' work parties to become a steward of our beloved natural area: Forest Park! Volunteer Freelancers will take a short hike to one of our various sites and work off-trail removing English ivy. This is a DIRTY job so come prepared in grubby, long-sleeved clothing and boots. We'll provide gloves, tools and snacks.Volunteers will meet at the Lower Macleay field house located at 2960 NW Upshur St. Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal.

The Tryon Creek Watershed Council invites you to this annual event to learn about the great work going on in the Tryon Creek watershed.

Don't miss this fun evening of learning, networking, and celebrating Tryon Creek! This event is open house style where the public can peruse visual displays from partners and volunteers about recent projects in the watershed.

Topics include water quality, fish surveys, culvert removal projects, interactive maps, and more!   

All members of the public are welcome to attend. Light refreshments provided, including free beer from Sasquatch Brewery!
