Nestled between majestic Willamette Falls and historic downtown Oregon City, the Three Rivers Artist Guild is holding its annual First City art and wine festival this weekend.  Admission to mill tours, festival, live music, and parking is free.  Fine art and delicious food and beverages will be for sale.   Come have fun looking at photography, fused glass, paintings, watercolors, jewelry, woodworking, pottery, mosaics, and metal sculpting.    

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 26th 2014. The 6th Annual Barn Dance & Barbecue, presented by Whole Foods Market with support from Organic Valley, and One PacificCoast Bank  begins at 4:30 pm. We'll have great food,Widmer Brothers beer and Lady Hill wine, a silent auction with Portlander's favorite goodies, and of course live music and square dancing.

The event kicks off with the Scavenger Hunt and tours of the award-winning  Sauvie Island Organics farm. Families will search the farm for everything from pollinators to edible flowers, while learning about how their food is grown.  A winner chosen at random will be handsomely rewarded. Don't forget to snap some photos and enter Portland Nursery's Fun Farm Photos contest.

Dinner, courtesy of the soon-to-open New American, will be served at 6. The Barn Dance menu offers guests a sneak peak at New American's offerings. Don't forget to save room for dessert, courtesy of Organic Valley dessert at 6:45.

At 7 pm, get ready to kick up your heels.  Music Sponsor One PacificCoast Bank presents the Square Dance featuring Ned Leager and the Whole Grain Crackers.

Individual tickets are $30*, children under 12 are $5 and a limited number of table sponsorships will be offered for $450.

An Earth Day Benefit for Rewild Portland!

COME CELEBRATE with us on Tuesday, April 22nd @ Mississippi Studios, Rewild Portland will be hosting an Earth Day Party. Presale Tickets are $10 and available at www.mississippistudios.com. General admission is sliding scale $10-25. Doors open at 5:30pm. Event begins at 6:00pm. This event is 21 and over. All proceeds go to fund Rewild Portland's diverse educational programs. Ancestral Skills Demonstrations

Have a cocktail while witnessing ancestral skills demonstrations. These will be on-going throughout the night, including fire by friction, basket weaving, simple stone knives, and more!

Silent auction from 6pm-8:30pm

A diverse selection of Silent Auction items such as amazing art by local artists, healing sessions, overnight getaways, permaculture and other specialized skill classes, Next Adventure gift cards, movie tickets and much more! Guest Speaker from 7pm-8pm

The highly renowned Dr. Nicole Apelian (researcher, expeditionary leader, safari guide, Southern Africa specialist, mother, scientist, and educator) will be presenting a slide show of images from her incredible experiences working with and learning from the Naro Bushmen in Botswana, covering the kinds of technology they use in everyday lives and their efforts to preserve their way of life. This will be her first live appearance in Portland!

COME CELEBRATE EARTH DAY WITH US!!

20th Annual Columbia Slough Regatta

Join our on-the-water festival and celebrate the Columbia Slough!  The Columbia Slough Regatta returns for its twentieth annual festival in honor of Portland's hidden waterway. This wetland waterway provides important habitat for bald eagles, turtles, fish, and otters, as well as enthusiastic kayakers and canoeists.

At this year's Regatta, over 400 people will meet at the Multnomah County Drainage Districts Launch on Sunday, August 3rd to launch into the safe slack water of the Columbia Slough.  Despite the name, the Columbia Slough Regatta is not actually a race, more of a leisurely wildlife-watching group paddle. Wildlife paddlers should keep an eye out for include, Great Blue Heron, Osprey, Western Painted Turtle, Beavers and more!

Individuals and families are welcome to bring their own boat. A donation of $8.00/person is requested. No one is turned away.
