Volunteers needed for the first step of a Hedgerow installation When: Saturday, October 27th, 1:30 PM to 4:30 Where: Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church 2420 Fairview Ave, Fairview Oregon 97024 Are you wanting to get out of the house? Or learn ways you can actually help the environment in your Neighborhood? About two Saturdays a month, staff from the Council will travel to different sites around the watershed to do restoration and management of insavisve species, and we need as many volunteers as possible! On the 27th of October, we will be working at Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church helping to lay and spread mulch for the hedgerow and expanding the rain-garden. There is a lot of work to be done, so please come on out and join us on Saturday! Before hand, starting at 9 AM, East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a naturscaping workshop focusing on using native plants and shrubs in your home garden. If interested, email Nathan, the community connections coordinator.

Dust off those boots and get your hands dirty planting native trees, removing invasive species, cleaning up litter, and helping restore critical habitat for native plants and wildlife.

• Dig in with SOLVE this fall at restoration and cleanup sites across the Portland-metro area. Over time, this work will improve water quality, create wildlife habitat, and store carbon to slow climate change.
• Project dates and times vary and will happen rain or shine. All tools, gloves and supplies will be provided.

Do you like the idea of giving back and making it a "day on" instead of a day off?  Then please consider joining Friends of Trees as we restore Atfalati Park!  Arrive at 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew. The planting will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide breakfast snacks and hot chocolate/coffee, as well as gloves, tools and guidance. Please come dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes or boots and get ready to have fun!

This event is in partnership with the City of Tualatin and Clean Water Services.

Join Friends of Trees to plant native trees and shrubs in Barrows Meadow!  Please arrive around 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew. The planting will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide breakfast snacks and hot chocolate/coffee, as well as gloves, tools and guidance. This area will be wet - please bring rubber boots if you have them!

This planting is part of the Tree for All event and is in conjunction with the City of Beaverton and Clean Water Services. This is our third year planting live stakes and bare root shrubs, restoring the riparian area along Summer Creek. The ambitious goal of Tree for All is to plant two million trees in the Tualatin River Valley in 20 years.
