Birds are the alarm system of the forest. Through their vocalizations and movement, they broadcast the drama happening on the land. Come to the evening lecture for an introduction to bird language or sign up for the series to practice in the field.
Kids Fishing Festival features guided fishing for kids ages 5-14, including an hour of fishing for kids with special needs. Kids who fish will get a fishing pole to take home with them. Other activities include crafts, games, a scavenger hunt, and BBQ lunch.
Join Hoyt Arboretum educators in our library for a reading of Jason Chin's Redwoods followed by a tour through the redwoods, dawn redwoods, and sequoias.
Weekly Saturday tours of the Hoyt Arboretum begin May 7 through October 29. Trained tour guides will lead visitors through the trails of the arboretum each tour focused on a particular family of trees or seasonal highlights.
