Orchard Summit Ivy Pull - Damascus

Saturday, January 4, 2014 - 9:00am to 12:00pm
Clackamas River Basin Council
Address:
Damascus, OR 97089
United States

The ROCK CREEK PARTNERSHIP, a collaboration between the Clackamas River Basin Council, Friends of Trees, and SOLVE through funding by RiverHealth CCSD#1 -- works together to improve water quality in the Rock Creek basin by planting native trees and shrubs near streamsides and removing invasive weeds. The Clackamas River Basin Council will be hard at work again on Saturday, January 4th at our Orchard Summit project located along Rock Creek. Volunteers are needed from 9 am to noon to pull English ivy (from the ground and off trees) to prevent native plants from being choked by this aggressive invasive weed. Join us for this family friendly event.

Gloves, tools, first aid, water, plants and instruction provided. Please be sure to dress appropriately for all weather conditions and terrain. You may want to bring your favorite work gloves, waterproof boots, rain jacket, water bottle, long plants or a long sleeve shirt. All volunteers must sign a waiver.

Address/Directions: Located in Damascus 1/2 mile east of the Hwy 212/224 junction. If traveling north on Hwy 212, look for a large gravel pull off on the right-hand side of the road just before the road straightens out of the curves. If you've reached Siri & Sons Farm, you've gone too far. Closest address to the site: 16410 SE  Highway 212, Damascus, OR 97089

For questions and to RSVP, please contact Morgan Parks at morgan@clackamasriver.org or call 503-303-4372 x101. We look forward to seeing you!
