In this event we will be cleaning up trash along the streets in the Mill Park neighborhood area. We will begin at Floyd Light City Park at the end of SE Yamhill St, and our coverage from there will be between SE Alder St and SE Salmon St, and SE 111th St and 117th St. Since this event takes place the day after Halloween, families and children are encouraged to participate in the cleanup in their Halloween costumes! At the end of the event we plan on holding a costume contest for the kids (with prizes!). This goal of this cleanup is not only to pick up candy wrappers and other trash, but to create connections between residents of this neighborhood and provide a fun, helpful activity for kids and adults alike. Join us for a day of fun and learning at Family Fun on the Farm day. School is out for the day and you're invited to Sauvie Island Center's Family Farm Day on Friday, October 9th from 10 am to noon. We'll explore the 16-acre Sauvie Island Organics farm and the grounds of Howell Territorial Park while learning about food, farming and the land. Our staff will guide you and your family through an exploration of our curriculum, designed for elementary school-aged children, including:

• Soil Exploration. Dig in and learn about healthy soil.
• Seed to Harvest. Plant, tend and harvest the Grow Lunch Garden.
• Healthy Snacks. Taste fresh veggies that you can use at home to create yummy snacks!
• Plant Parts Investigation. Explore the farm and plants we can eat.
• Wildlife & Food web. Who else has been foraging on the farm?
• Pollination Station. Meet these hard-working farm friends.

The event is free, but pre-registration is requested.

TOMS Portland is gearing up to pamper the Pearl District Neighborhood with a litter pickup! Join us in cleaning up our city, having a great time and connecting to the community. You won't want to miss our fun contests: "Most trash gathered" - wins a pair of shoes, "Most cigarette butts gathered" - wins a pair of sunglasses, and "Weirdest piece of trash found" - wins a bag of TOM's coffee! Join volunteers for this monthly Third Saturday Cleanup in Northwest Portland. Pick up litter and remove graffiti in the area. Join us for some coffee and conversation afterward. Volunteers should come prepared with completed waiver forms (if possible) and work gloves on cold days. Activities include: Litter Cleanup.

Come help beautify Old Town Chinatown. Join in the fun with neighbors and community members in cleaning and beautifying the tree wells and street-scapes within Old Town/Chinatown! Activities include: Invasive plant removal, litter cleanup, maintenance and monitoring and spreading mulch. Lunch will be served!
