The City of Seaside, Seaside Downtown Development Association, and Beach Drive Buccaneers invite you to join with us in cleaning up marine debris on our favorite Oregon Beach. Organized cleanups will take place, rain or shine, the first Saturday of every month. Sign in at The Seashore Inn on the Beach, 60 N. Prom, Seaside, get your bag, and, when done, drop it in a trash receptacle along the Prom. Distribute or Pick Up SOLVE Bags for the Grand Floral Parade

Help keep the Portland Rose Parade Festival the cleanest and greenest festival in the world. It's fun, great exercise and helps the Portland Rose Festival maintain its reputation! Volunteers can register to distribute SOLVE litter bags before the parade or pick up filled bags after the parade (or both.) This is a terrific way to actively participate in this long-standing Portland tradition! First shift volunteers distributing bags will meet at N Larrabee Ave. (next to the Memorial Coliseum) at 8 a.m. These volunteers can be 8 years old and up. Second shift volunteers will be meet at the same location at 10:30 a.m. to collect filled bags. The second shift volunteers should be 16 years old and up. The parade route is 4.25 miles, so wear your tennies!

Stories in the Stones on Mount Talbert

Description:  Join naturalist Dan Daly and explore the rugged beauty of this unique lava dome as you wander through a white oak woodland in summer. Mount Talbert is part of a series of cinder cones and shield volcanoes that began bubbling up almost 3 million years ago. Participants gain a basic understanding of the incredible geology in this region.

Register:  Advance registration and payment is required by calling NCPRD at (503) 794-8092.

Where: Mount Talbert Nature Park

When:  10a.m. to 1p.m.

Cost: $5 person, children age 8-17 free.

Ages: 8 and up

No-dogs policy: To protect plants, wildlife and people, Metro does not allow pets at regional parks and natural areas. Pets can damage sensitive habitat and threaten wildlife the region has worked to protect. In natural areas where dogs are not allowed, people see more wildlife and get closer to it. Ross Island Paddle and Pull

Join forces with the Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership, Willamette Riverkeeper and Portland Parks & Recreation for a Big Canoe adventure to Ross Island Natural Area! Meet at Willamette Park and paddle in a 29' canoe to Ross Island. Once on the island, we'll work to enhance wildlife habitat by removing invasive species and learn more about the flora and fauna that call Ross Island home.

Big Canoe trips are open to the public and are suitable for ages 6 and up. Previous paddling experience is not necessary. Life jackets, paddles, canoes, gloves, tools and guides are provided.

Join City of Washougal staff to hike the beautiful Hartwood Park and Rolling Meadows greenway along Campen Creek.  This family friendly greenway trail meanders through 40 acres of green properties, including the Cedar View Trail, Campen Creek Park and Hartwood Park. The gravel-surface trail is user-friendly and crosses a couple of bridges along the way. Bring binoculars to see wildlife in the tree canopy along the creek.  Meet at Hartwood Park at 49th Street, near the red building.  Portable restroom facilities are available. RSVP suggested.
